The trailer for the new Amy Winehouse documentary will send chills down your spine
A TRAILER FOR a soon-to-be-released documentary about the late Amy Winehouse has been unveiled and it is quite something.
Directed by Asif Kapadia, who previously helmed the highly acclaimed Senna, Amy is set to feature previously unseen archive footage and will chart the singer’s journey from relatively unknown singer to the superstar she became.
Rather poignantly, the trailer features Winehouse explaining that she doesn’t think she would be able to handle fame.
The film is set to hit cinemas on July 3rd.
The reaction to the trailer on social media has been overwhelmingly positive with many calling it “beautiful” and “haunting”.
Winehouse died in 2011 at the age of 27 from alcohol poisoning.
Over the course of her brief career, she won six Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for Rehab, and sold an estimated 20 million copies of her album Back to Black.
